Softball Recap: Frontier Regional Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

Frontier Regional hadn't done well against Mount Greylock Regional recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Red Hawks blew past the Mounties 12-5. The result was nothing new for the Red Hawks, who have now won three games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Raine Wonsey made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Frontier Regional got a massive performance out of Addie Ehle, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave Ehle a new career-high. Delaney 'Lu' Fifield was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Frontier Regional hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mount Greylock Regional struck out seven times.

Frontier Regional pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Mount Greylock Regional, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.
