The D'Iberville Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 63-51 to Brandon. While losing is never fun, D'Iberville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while Brandon is ranked 49th).
It was another big night for Nate White, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds for Brandon. The contest was White's 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Barnes, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds.
D'Iberville has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Brandon, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-7.
D'Iberville will be playing in front of their home fans against Meridian at 4:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024. Brandon won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Jefferson Davis County at 4:30 a.m. on December 29th. Jefferson Davis County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Brandon likes a good challenge.
