Covington-Douglas will challenge Bluejacket on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps rankings project a close game.
Last Friday, Covington-Douglas put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They put a hurting on Deer Creek-Lamont to the tune of 60-14. Junior Dalton Fleeson was the offensive standout of the match for Covington-Douglas, as he rushed for 158 yards and 3 touchdowns. In fact, with 11 tackles Fleeson was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 58 points the game before, Bluejacket faltered in their match last Thursday. They took a serious blow against Southwest Covenant, falling 0-47. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.
Covington-Douglas have to be hurting after a devastating 24-54 loss at the hands of Bluejacket the last time the two teams met. Can Covington-Douglas avenge their loss, or is history doomed to repeat itself ? We'll soon find out.
