Make it eight blowout wins for the Houston Mustangs this season. They claimed a resounding 69-24 victory over Germantown at home. The win was some much needed relief for Houston as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Houston's win on Wednesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anna lee Avery, who scored 21 points along with five steals. Avery hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Amani Lipscomb, who scored 15 points along with six assists and two steals.
Houston's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Germantown, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Houston will square off against the Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Collierville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully the Mustangs like a good challenge. As for Germantown, they will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
