The El Cerrito Gauchos can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Kennedy by a score of 72-61. The victory was just what El Cerrito needed coming off of a 62-15 defeat in their prior game.
When it comes to explaining why Kennedy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tyler Martin. Despite the final result, he scored 32 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Martin has scored all season. Jayson Scarbrough was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
El Cerrito's win ended a eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-17. As for Kennedy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 16 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. El Cerrito will take on the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bethel has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Kennedy, they will be playing at home against the Oilers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Richmond comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
