It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Linn Wildcats ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They walked away with a 49-39 win over Iberia. 49 seems to be a good number for Linn as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Linn's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Paige Senevey, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Senevey pulled down eight or more rebounds. Hannah Hackmann was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Several Rangers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alexa Rowden, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Rowden pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Edwards, who scored eight points.
Linn pushed their record up to 3-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points per game. As for Iberia, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Linn will take on Belle at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Belle will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 269th, while Linn is ranked 130th). As for Iberia, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Stover at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Stover focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
