Softball Recap: Dothan Wins Going Away Against Eufaula

Dothan won the last time they faced Eufaula and things went their way on Friday too. The Wolves were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Tigers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolves.

Brantlee McCarthy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. McCarthy was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Jada Newman was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2025. Harmoni Descalzi was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs.

Dothan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eufaula only posted a batting average of .278.

Dothan's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Eufaula, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-8.

Coming up, Dothan will be playing at home against Enterprise at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wolves 3.7, the Wildcats 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Eufaula, they will square off against Beulah at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.08 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
