Omro is 0-5 against Winneconne since April of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Foxes will head out to face off against the Wolves at 4:30 p.m. Omro's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Winneconne's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Omro managed to slip by Mayville the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Foxes lost 11-3 to the Cardinals on Thursday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Foxes, who until this contest were averaging 3.33 runs allowed.
Omro saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jason La Kosh, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Winneconne won against Green Bay East on Tuesday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Wolves didn't even let the Red Devils on the board, marking the Wolves' second-straight 14-0 shutout. The victory was familiar territory for the Wolves, who have now won four matchups in a row.
Noah Bouras made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Winneconne got a massive performance out of Dallas Walker, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI Walker has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Broderick Stille, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Winneconne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Green Bay East only posted an OBP of .111.
Having lost for the first time this season, Omro fell to 5-1. As for Winneconne, their record is now 7-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Omro has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Winneconne struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Omro might still be hurting after the 8-2 defeat they got from Winneconne when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Foxes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
