4A Region III District 19 recap September 10, 2013
Dayton was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from ninth to seventh in 4A Region III District 19. Earlier in the week, the Broncos defeated Livingston 24-6.
Porter scaled the state rankings by moving to 756 from 905 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Spartans were able to make move up by besting Caney Creek 26-19.
Crosby's dynamic duo of Aston Walter and Raelon Singleton proved to be unstoppable against Willis, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Walter threw for 233 yards and 4 touchdowns and Singleton had 98 yards receiving. Austin Walter helped Crosby's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 40 yards.
The Cougars' dynamic duo of Walter and Singleton proved tough for the Wildkats to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Singleton was the best receiver in the league this week as Crosby beat Willis.
Marlon Lewis was a force in the backfield as Porter defeated the Panthers.
Walter put up the best numbers in passing as Jeff Riordan's team beat Audie Jackson's team.
Lewis was the best running back in 4A Region III District 19 this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 249 yards as Reno Moore's team defeated the Wildkats. Colton Clark also contributed to the rushing game with 95 yards on the ground.
Lewis was a passing and rushing force as the Spartans topped Caney Creek.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Crosby takes on Barbers Hill. The Cougars' offense has recorded 112 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Eagles have permitted only 13 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Barbers Hill takes on Crosby. As it stands, Don Price's team is in fourth, while the Cougars are in third.
The Eagles took down Lumberton 44-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
