The San Juan Broncos will take on the Panguitch Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
San Juan took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Tuesday. Everything went their way against Green River as they made off with a 77-55 victory. The Broncos pushed the score to 64-33 by the end of the third, a deficit the Pirates cut but never quite recovered from.

San Juan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tripp Palmer, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 13 boards. Palmer is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Jagger Nieves, who shot 56% from the field on his way to 14 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
San Juan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive games dating back to last season.
Panguitch had taken Millard down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Bobcats took a 62-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
San Juan will need to focus on slowing down Trenton Virga, one of several Panguitch players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double with 20 points and 18 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Coby Bentley, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 15 points.
San Juan's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points over those games. As for Panguitch, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: San Juan has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 47 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Panguitch struggles in that department as they've been averaging 37 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
San Juan was dealt a bruising 74-43 defeat at the hands of Panguitch in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Broncos were down 44-19.
