6A Three Rivers recap October 22, 2013
Canby was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from sixth to fourth in 6A Three Rivers. Earlier in the week, the Cougars defeated West Linn 35-14.
Lakeridge made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,485 from 2,155. The advance stemmed from a 20-14 victory over Lake Oswego last week.
The Pacers' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Eric Dungey threw for 236 and 2 touchdowns and J.R. Mclaughlin had 102 yards receiving. On the ground Lopeti Aisea contributed 123 yards. Joe Sindlinger helped Lakeridge's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 60 yards.
He was 23-35 with 2 interceptions.
Dungey put up the best numbers through the air as Lakeridge beat the Lakers. Dungey's favorite target this week was Mclaughlin, who caught 6 passes for 102 yards.
Tom Smythe's team's Dungey and Mclaughlin have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Dungey has thrown for 2,046 yards this season, while Mclaughlin has 47 catches for 987 yards. Dan Sherrell from Clackamas leads the league in rushing with 1,416 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between the Cavaliers and Canby. Clackamas enters the contest ranked eighth in the state, while Mike Vaught's team ranks 14th.
The Pacers' Mclaughlin needs only 13 receiving yards against the Lions to crack 1,000 for the season. He has recorded 47 catches for 987 yards this year.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Lake Oswego takes on Oregon City. Steve Coury's team has allowed 159 points this season, while the Pioneers have given up 145. The Lakers allowed 20 points last week as they lost to Lakeridge.
Oregon City led 6A Three Rivers in scoring this week by notching 35 points on Joe Bushman's team.
