Cumberland Gap entered their  contest against Union County  on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Cumberland Gap Panthers took  a  74-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Union County Patriots.  Cumberland Gap's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Brady Harris, who  went 11 of 19  en route to 25  points and five  rebounds. Harris' evening made it seven games in a row in which  he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was  Kolton Goins, who  went 6 of 13  on his way to 16 points and eight  rebounds.
Cumberland Gap's defeat  ended  a  four-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 9-6. As for Union County, their  victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-4.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when  the Cumberland Gap Panthers  face off against   the Barbourville Tigers at 7:30  p.m.  on Monday. As for Union County, they will challenge Cosby at 6:30  p.m.  on Monday. One thing working in Union County's favor is that they have posted at least 55  points  in their last three matchups.
