After each having a week off, the Brownsburg Bulldogs and the Pike Red Devils will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brownsburg will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Brownsburg is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Indiana's top teams: Hamilton Southeastern, who was ranked 11th at the time (Brownsburg was ranked first). The Bulldogs claimed a resounding 35-7 victory over the Royals. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.

Brownsburg got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Shakovon Sumpterbey out in front who rushed for 135 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries. Those 135 rushing yards gave Sumpterbey a new career-high. Aiden Jobe was in the mix as well, providing Brownsburg with two scores.
Brownsburg didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Hamilton Southeastern to a completion percentage of just 50%. The team can thank Drew Bostic for the heroic effort on defense: he. Brownsburg hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.57 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Pike played a tough game last Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 42-7 loss at the hands of Lawrence North. Having soared to a lofty 46 points in the game before, the Red Devils couldn't push the score so high this time.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Bobby Thomas and Izayveon Moore. Moore had a great game and rushed for 228 yards and five TDs while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Thomas did his best for the losing side, rushing for 90 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries.
Pike's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Brownsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Brownsburg has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 186.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Pike struggles in that department as they've been averaging 191.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Brownsburg against Pike in their previous matchup back in October of 2021, as the squad secured a 37-0 win. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
