It was a good run, but the Brentsville District Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. The contest between them and Skyline wasn't particularly close, with Brentsville District falling 68-53. Brentsville District was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Skyline apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Brentsville District's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Payton Brown, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Natalie Marvin, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Brentsville District's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5. As for Skyline, their victory bumped their record up to 6-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brentsville District will take on Meridian at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Brentsville District focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Friday. As for Skyline, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Kettle Run at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Skyline is facing Kettle Run at the right time seeing as Kettle Run is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
