Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while the Bullsharks are ranked 519th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Barron Collier over Key West in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Barron Collier blew Key West out of the water with a 52-18 final score. The Cougars pushed the score to 43-16 by the end of the third, a deficit the Conchs had little chance of recovering from.
Barron Collier's win came from a few key players Estero will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Taylor Viotto, who posted 12 points. Abby Homberger also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.
Estero is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Barron Collier, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 14-11.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Estero has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 30.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Barron Collier struggles in that department as they've been averaging 22.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Estero took a serious blow against Barron Collier in their previous matchup back in January of 2022, falling 58-21. Thankfully for Estero, Deydra Ramos (who went 6 of 15 en route to 13 points along with 14 boards and 11 assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
