After flying high against Soquel  last Tuesday, Aptos came back down to earth. The Aptos Mariners took  a  5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monterey Dores on Wednesday. It was the first time  this season that Aptos let down their fans at home.

Throwing,  Myers   struck out seven batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile,  Page   didn't allow a single  earned run over four innings pitched. At bat,  Myers  went 1-for-2 with a  home run and three  RBI, while  Page  went 2-for-3 with a  home run and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Denae Lee, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Aptos' defeat  ended  a  six-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 9-4. As for Monterey, the  win was  the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-5.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aptos will take on Harbor at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Aptos is facing Harbor at the right time seeing as Harbor is stuck on  a  seven-game losing streak. As for Monterey, they will look to defend their home field  on Thursday against Stevenson at 6:00  p.m. Monterey's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6  runs per game  this season, so Stevenson's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
