Marquette Catholic has gone a perfect 4-0 against Carrollton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Explorers will challenge the Hawks at 4:30 p.m. Marquette Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Marquette Catholic was handed a 11-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Father McGivney Catholic 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Explorers in their matchups with the Griffins: they've now won three in a row.
Kenna Lievers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kennedy Eveans was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Dickson, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Carrollton put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Brown County as they made off with a 17-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won 19 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Hannah Uhles made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Uhles was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lauren Flowers, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Hayden McMurtrie also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Carrollton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .647. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in 24 consecutive games.
Carrollton's win was their 31st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Marquette Catholic, their record now sits at 8-12.
Both Marquette Catholic and Carrollton just can't seem to miss. The Explorers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Carrollton struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Marquette Catholic took their win against Carrollton in their previous matchup back in April of 2021 by a conclusive 7-0 score. Do the Explorers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
