Dayspring Christian Academy has gone a perfect 6-0 against Denver Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. Josiah Rodriguez made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Rodriguez was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Gavin Bohl was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Gage Davis, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Dayspring Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Estes Park only posted an OBP of .303.
Meanwhile, Denver Academy came up short against Arrupe Jesuit on Saturday and fell 8-3.
Denver Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chris Janssen, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Janssen has hit this season.
Dayspring Christian Academy's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Denver Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
Denver Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Dayspring Christian Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. It's a different story for Denver Academy, though, as they've only averaged .195. Will they be able to contain Dayspring Christian Academy's hitters?
