If The Friendswood Mustangs were riding high off their 59-14 takedown of the Terry Rangers last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Friendswood was dealt a 49-14 loss at the hands of Angleton on Friday. Friendswood has struggled against Angleton recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Friendswood still got an impressive performance from Garrett Muecke, who picked up 100 receiving yards and a touchdown. Muecke was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 65 yards.
Elijah Simmons was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 149 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Clinton Washington, who rushed for 24 yards and a touchdown.
Friendswood now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Angleton, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Magnolia West the next time they take the field. Angleton will host Magnolia West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Friendswood will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
