Moon Area can attribute much of their success to Andrew Cross, who threw for 121 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes. What's more, Cross racked up 148.1 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Jared Moyer also deserves some recognition as he posted his first receiving yards of the season.
Moon Area didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Penn-Trafford to a completion percentage of just 44.4%. Given Cross' standout performance, it's clear the Warriors' secondary just wasn't on the same level.
Meanwhile, Pine-Richland took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-10 win over Shaler Area. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by 29 points or more this season.
Moon Area better keep an eye on AARON STRADER. He was instrumental in Pine-Richland's win, throwing for 107 yards and three touchdowns on only eight passes. STRADER has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played. KHALIL TAYLOR was in the mix too, providing Pine-Richland with four scores.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Pine-Richland, adding 17 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of TAYLOR, who ran a punt back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a kickoff return touchdown from him.
Pine-Richland didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of ELIJAH HILL and TAYLOR. TAYLOR got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Moon Area's record now sits at 9-3. As for Pine-Richland, their record is now 10-1.
Moon Area was dealt a bruising 46-9 defeat at the hands of Pine-Richland in their previous matchup back in September of 2019. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
