Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Prairie). They put the hurt on the Lapwai Wildcats with a sharp 33-8 victory on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Pirates with their most commanding win of the season.

Kaylie Lockett was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Lockett was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one double.

In other batting news, Grace Uhlenkott was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with five runs, three RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Avery Schacher, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with five runs and one triple.

Prairie always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .810. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win made it two in a row for Prairie and bumps their season record up to 3-4. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-7 Lapwai and 0-6 Lewis County co-op [Highland/Nezperce]. As for Lapwai, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.
