It was a good run, but the Norwich Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 48-41 to Cunningham. Norwich was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cunningham apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Will Wegerer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cunningham, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Wegerer has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Luke Albers, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Norwich's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Cunningham, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Norwich will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Central Christian on Tuesday. Cunningham won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Medicine Lodge on January 20th. Medicine Lodge will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
