Dover took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Northeastern Bobcats 44-7. With the Eagles ahead 41-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Dover was led to victory by Lincoln Decker and Darren Knight. Decker threw for 62 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Knight picked up 34 receiving yards and two scores. The dominant performance also gave Decker a new career-high in rushing yards (65).
Dover was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 235 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northeastern only rushed for 92 rushing yards.
Dover's defense stepped up as well, laying out Jack Patterson. six times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as six different players picked up one apiece. Brogan Myers was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making six total tackles (6.0 for loss).
