The Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers are ranked highly in their home state, and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the St. James Saints. Georgetown Day received a tough blow as they fell 68-52 to St. James. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Georgetown Day in their matchups with St. James: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Mighty Hoppers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tobias Viorst, who scored 17 points. Viorst scored a full 32.7% of Georgetown Day's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abe Badji, who scored 8 points along with 16 rebounds and 8 blocks.
Georgetown Day's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for St. James, their victory bumped their record up to 1-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Georgetown Day will face off against Flint Hill at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. James, they will head out on the road to face off against Oakdale at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
