The Fort Elliott Cougars lost against the Follett Panthers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Fort Elliott took a 46-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Follett. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fort Elliott in their matchups with Follett: they've now lost five in a row.
Follett was led to victory by Maddox Miller and David Meeks. Miller dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Meeks scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The matchup was Meeks' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Justin Humbert, who scored five points.
Fort Elliott's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 4-7. As for Follett, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.
Fort Elliott will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on McLean at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. As for Follett, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Darrouzett at 6:00 p.m. Darrouzett is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
