Tate and Escambia are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Tate Aggies will head out on the road to take on the Escambia Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tate will be strutting in after a win while Escambia will be coming in after a loss.
Tate had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They claimed a resounding 39-6 victory over Elberta at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Tate has posted yet this season.
Escambia suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Pensacola, falling 55-9. While losing is never fun, Escambia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 502nd, while Pensacola is ranked 109th).
Tate's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8. As for Escambia, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-11.
Tate took a serious blow against Escambia in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 50-11. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Tate was down 29-9.
