The Ellis Railroaders will stay at home for another week and welcome the Sterling Black Bears at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Ellis will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
Ellis put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Syracuse 56-6 at home.
Ellis had a senior duo take command as Logan Russell threw for 234 yards and four touchdowns and Mason Younger picked up 109 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Russell hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games.
Another reason for the win was Ellis' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Leading the way was Toby Honas and his two sacks.
Sterling fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They managed a 27-22 win over Ellinwood on Friday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sterling to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaiden Diasio, who rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Logan Isaac was another key contributor, rushing for 41 yards and a touchdown.
Ellis' win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 4-4. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37.67 points. As for Sterling, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Ellis has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 350.9 total yards per game. It's a different story for Sterling, though, as they've been averaging only 237.8 per game. Will Ellis be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will Sterling flip the ?
