The Sky View Bobcats were the 75-49 winner over the Bear River Bears when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Sky View fell 68-55 to Bear River on Friday. Sky View just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Liam Guthrie, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Bryton Williams, who scored 16 points.
It was another big night for Bridger Barfuss, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and five assists for Bear River. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Barfuss has scored all season. Kyver Jensen was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Sky View's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-8. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Bear River, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-2.
Sky View will head out on the road to take on Logan at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Logan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Sky View likes a good challenge. As for Bear River, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ridgeline at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Ridgeline focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
