On Saturday, it was a hard-fought game, but Metuchen had to settle for a 44-42 defeat against the Chiefs.
Metuchen lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jason Woods, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Matt Smith was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Metuchen's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Piscataway, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Metuchen will take on the Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. J.P. Stevens is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Piscataway, they will head out on the road to square off against the Soaring Eagles at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
