The St. Andrew's Lions will face off against the Tiftarea Academy Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (St. Andrew's is ranked 383rd, while Tiftarea Academy is ranked 381st).
St. Andrew's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Frederica Academy 49-13. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for St. Andrew's in their matchups with Frederica Academy: they've now lost six in a row.
Meanwhile, Tiftarea Academy made easy work of Terrell Academy on Friday and carried off a 34-14 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Tiftarea Academy just coasted through the last quarter.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tiftarea Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than John Robert Walker, who threw for 187 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiden Richardson, who rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry.
With St. Andrew's loss and Frederica Academy's victory, both teams now sport identical 5-5 records.
