The Ralston Rams will head out on the road to take on the Malcolm Clippers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Ralston gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Auburn as Ralston made off with an 11-1 victory. While the Rams didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Nick Benis tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Bryson Sargent was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jason Miner, who scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Ralston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Malcolm). They blew past Fort Calhoun 17-1 on Saturday. The Clippers haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Malcolm also got a great performance from Cayden Robotham as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.1 innings pitched.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mason Wisnieski, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Carson Frank was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.
The victory was the fourth in a row for Ralston, bringing their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Malcolm, their record is now 6-1.
Ralston might still be hurting after the 12-0 loss they got from Malcolm in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Ralston avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
