If TERRA Environmental were riding high off their 46-21 takedown of the Sunset Knights last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. TERRA Environmental took a 45-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders. TERRA Environmental has not had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why TERRA Environmental lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is Shannon Greene. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. Greene continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Francesca Rodriguez, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Gabriela Pena was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds for Ransom Everglades. Pena is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 15 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Nica Rosenberg, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
TERRA Environmental has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Ransom Everglades, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-9.
TERRA Environmental won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Sabres at 3:30 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Ransom Everglades, they will square off against the Dolphins at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Downtown Doral will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 582nd, while the Raiders are ranked 230th).
