First Baptist found their leader in underclassman Lydia Wynja, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Wynja hasn't dropped below two blocks for 11 straight games. Another player making a difference was Jada McKinney, who scored two points along with five steals and two blocks.
First Baptist is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Shawnee Mission Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
First Baptist will face off against Omaha Warriors at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Shawnee Mission Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Blue Ridge Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Blue Ridge Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
