Lockhart is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will welcome the Lehman Lobos at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
Lehman will be up against a hot Lockhart team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. Everything went Lockhart's way against Kenedy on Friday as Lockhart made off with a 9-3 victory. While Lockhart didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-18-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Santiago Guerra made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Lockhart is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 2-4 otherwise. Guerra was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Waylon Phillips was a standout: he scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Parker Conner, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Lehman owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They put the hurt on Pflugerville with a sharp 8-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lobos.
Like Lockhart, Lehman also got a great game from a two-way player: Andrew Cruz. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Cruz has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Franky Delgadillo was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Lehman's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Lockhart, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
Lockhart suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Lehman in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will Lockhart have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
