The Water Valley Wildcats waltzed into Friday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 37-28 win over Florence.
Despite the defeat, Florence saw an underclassman step up: Emerson Herring scored 21 points. Herring scored a full 75% of Florence's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Water Valley's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Florence, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Water Valley's road trip will continue as they head out to face Menard at 11:30 a.m. on December 1st. As for Florence, they will square off against Sidney at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Sidney comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
