Even though the Yreka Miners scored an imposing 56 points on Tuesday, the University Prep Panthers still came out on top. University Prep took down Yreka 74-56. The victory was familiar territory for University Prep who now have three in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead University Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trey Pringle, who scored 17 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Pringle scored 15 or more points. Scott Steffan was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
University Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Yreka, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.
University Prep will head out on the road to face off against West Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully West Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Saturday. As for Yreka, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Anderson at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Anderson is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
