Dewar has gone a perfect 10-0 against Weleetka recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Dragons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Outlaws at 4:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Dewar's favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Weleetka has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Dewar is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-12 victory over Tupelo on Friday. With that win, the Dragons brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
Traber Jones made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI.
Dewar was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2025.
Meanwhile, Weleetka came up short against Henryetta on Thursday, falling 13-4.
Jonah Roberts was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Brodie Buckley also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Dewar's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Weleetka, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Dewar has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435. However, it's not like Weleetka struggles in that department as they've averaged .463. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Dewar's way against Weleetka in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, as Dewar made off with a 10-2 win. Will the Dragons repeat their success, or do the Outlaws have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
