Issaquah is 2-8 against Redmond since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. Issaquah is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.
Issaquah is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Washington's top teams: Skyline, who was ranked fifth at the time (Issaquah was ranked first). The Eagles fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 7-5 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since March 11, 2024.
Campbell Garvey (2027) made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.
Meanwhile, Redmond had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Wolves by a score of 8-5.
Ainsley Barcalow spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Maggie Enich and Kati Cygan did most of the damage at the plate: Enich went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and one RBI, while Cygan scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most triples Enich has posted since back in March. Aubrey Bauer was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Redmond hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in eight consecutive games.
Issaquah's loss dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Redmond, their win bumped their record up to 14-2-1.
Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Issaquah hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .392. However, it's not like Redmond struggles in that department as they've averaged .376. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
