This season hasn't been kind to the Antonito Trojans, who are still winless after their fifth game. They suffered a rough 51-28 loss at the hands of Hanover on Saturday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Antonito in their matchups with Hanover: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Antonito still got an impressive performance from Jasiah Jiron, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. Jiron scored a full 60.7% of Antonito's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Octavian Martinez, who scored five points.
Even though they lost, Antonito were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hanover only pulled down 18 offensive rebounds.
It was another big night for Junior Diaz, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds for Hanover. The game was Diaz's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Tyler Decker was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Antonito's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Hanover, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
Antonito will be home for the holidays to greet Moffat at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Moffat is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.5 points per game. Hanover is on the road again on Saturday and play against Primero at 1:30 p.m. on December 16th.
