East Yosemite recap October 1, 2013
Tulare Western scaled the state rankings by moving to 394 from 483 this week, the biggest jump in East Yosemite. The Mustangs were able to move up by besting Madera 38-21.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Porterville beat Dinuba 66-52. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Panthers.
Romello Harris was a beast in the backfield as Tulare Union fell to Central.
Harris was a passing and rushing force as the Redskins lost to the Grizzlies.
Kobe Portillo threw for 191 yards and 2 touchdowns. He went 14-27 with 0 interception.
Harris made the biggest impact on defense this week as Tulare Union fell to Central. The 5-foot-9 sophomore.
Portillo put up the best numbers in passing as Tulare Western beat the Coyotes. Portillo's favorite target this week was Noah Salazar, who caught 5 passes for 81 yards.
5-foot-10 quarterback Portillo of Ryan Rocha's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 586. He has also thrown 4 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jose Ayon. The Delano star has 12 catches for 227 yards.
Mission Oak took down Exeter 47-21 last week, the largest margin of any game.
