Payton College Prep won the last time they faced Latin and things went their way on Monday too. The Grizzlies won by a set and slipped past the Romans 2-1. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Grizzlies as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Payton College Prep was actually outscored in aggregate across those three sets (65-62), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 12-25, 25-21, 25-19.

Jason Beerkens paced Payton College Prep's offense, picking up nine kills. Beerkens got some help from Alexander Dragoshanskiy and his 21 assists. Finally, Beerkens was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Payton College Prep's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Latin, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
