The Glenpool Warriors can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They blew past Pawhuska 58-33. Given Glenpool's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Huskies are ranked 129th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Glenpool's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aaliyah Shawnee, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Shawnee is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyra McKinnie, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Glenpool's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2. As for Pawhuska, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-5.
Glenpool won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. Wilson-Henryetta will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Pawhuska, they will head out on the road to challenge the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
