The John Carroll Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 61-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Calvert Hall. John Carroll was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Brendan Johnson was his usual excellent self, scoring 41 points along with seven rebounds for Calvert Hall. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least a third of Calvert Hall's points. Another player making a difference was Asaiah Hamond, who scored two points along with nine rebounds.
John Carroll has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for Calvert Hall, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-15.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. John Carroll will take on the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Calvert Hall, they and the Panthers will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. St. Frances Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 188 points over their last three games.
