The Clayton Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 61 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 69-61 to Lakewood Christian. Clayton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lakewood Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Layton Brown, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds. Brown scored a full 27.9% of Clayton's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Stefen Lewis was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Clayton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Lakewood Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Clayton won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hanna at 2:10 p.m. on December 8th. Hanna comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Lakewood Christian will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Union Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 18th.
