The Minor Tigers lost against the Homewood Patriots back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Minor fell 63-50 to Homewood. While losing is never fun, Minor can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Homewood is ranked 18th).
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carlos Moore , who scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Moore scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carmelo Burroughs, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Minor's loss dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Homewood, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Minor will take on Jackson-Olin at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Jackson-Olin has now lost 17 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 7. As for Homewood, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Parker at 7:30 p.m.
