The Oviedo Lions put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lake Mary 68-40 at home. Given Oviedo's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Lake Mary is ranked 200th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Caleb Pennyfeather, who scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds and 7 blocks. Pennyfeather is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Cameron Bryant, who scored 13 points.
Oviedo's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Lake Mary, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Oviedo will square off against Orlando Christian Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Orlando Christian Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday. As for Lake Mary, they will head out on the road to face off against Colonial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Colonial knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Lake Mary likes a good challenge.
