Velma-Alma will be playing at home against Walters at at 7:30 PM on Thursday. Velma-Alma come in off of six low-scoring performances in a row, a trend the team is obviously eager to reverse.
Things haven't been easy for Velma-Alma, and their contest last Friday only extended their streak of losses to seven. They were dealt a punishing 0-56 defeat at the hands of Ringling. Velma-Alma were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-49.
Last Friday, Walters put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They put a hurting on Dibble to the tune of 42-0. Walters were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Walters's win lifted them to 5-2 while Velma-Alma's loss dropped them down to 0-7. We'll find out if Walters can add another positive mark to their record or if Velma-Alma can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Walters's step.
