Landmark Christian has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Eagle's Landing Christian Academy Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Tuesday, Landmark Christian ended up a good deal behind Callaway and lost 61-44. While losing is never fun, Landmark Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while Callaway is ranked 92nd).
Despite the defeat, Landmark Christian got a solid performance out of Melody Painter, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Painter has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amara Knowles, who scored 11 points.
Eagle's Landing Christian Academy has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They walked away with a 46-34 victory over Elite Scholars Academy on Thursday.
Landmark Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3. As for Eagle's Landing Christian Academy, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-11.
Landmark Christian took their win against Eagle's Landing Christian Academy in their previous meeting on January 5th by a conclusive 57-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Landmark Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
