Kentridge hasn't had much luck against Tahoma recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Kentridge will face off against Tahoma at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Kentridge 3, Tahoma 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Kentridge is headed into the game with an undefeated record on the line, something Mt. Rainier almost spoiled on Thursday. Kentridge came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against Mt. Rainier. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Chargers have posted against the Rams since May 1, 2018.
The team relied heavily on Kenzie Coble, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Alissa Andrews also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Coble wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Kentridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tahoma). Everything went their way against Kentwood on Thursday as Tahoma made off with a 20-2 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Alexa Ramirez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Mia Hammington was incredible, firing off three home runs, seven RBI, and four runs while going 5-for-5. Malina Yelle was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Tahoma's win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Kentridge, their record now sits at 4-0.
Kentridge suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Tahoma in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can Kentridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
