Lakeside hasn't had much luck against Geneva recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Dragons will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Lakeside is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Lakeside will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Struthers on Friday. The Dragons put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 17-3 victory. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 22, 2022, but that streak is no more.
Natalie Myers spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on two hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Keeley Faenza and Kristyn Crockett did most of the damage at the plate: Faenza went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Crockett went 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Crockett a new career-high. Ellison Strubbe was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Lakeside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .644. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Geneva's offense. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (4-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The matchup marked the first time this season in which they were not able to get on the board.
Geneva now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Lakeside, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6.
Lakeside might still be hurting after the 28-3 loss they got from Geneva when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Will the Dragons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
